An MG PB 4 seater tourer that took 40 years to rebuild   Date: 19 Sep 06

A 19 year old lad (John) was visiting his uncle in who lived in the Luton area. During the visit John accommpanied his uncle on his weekly rounds as a delivery driver for Timkins Bearings. They passed a dealers forecourt where the MG PB 4 seater tourer was displayed for sale. John always had a soft spot for the PB tourer as he had fond memories of visits to places like Silverstone in his uncles PB. John decided to buy the car and paid the dealer £40. Alot of money in those days. The dealer delivered the vehicle to John's uncles house in Luton and it was then towed to John's house. John drove the car up and down the drive but never on the road. For the past 40 odd years John has insisted that the car would be rebuilt. He carried out some repairs/rebuilding over that period but when, eventually, the car came to us it needed a total rebuild. Less than 2 years later and John is now the proud owner of a fully rebuilt MG PB 4 seater tourer and yes it has at last been driven on the queens highway.
