1502 The Birth of a Legend   Date: 12 Sep 06

Classic Restoration (Sales) Ltd is pleased to announce the discovery of one of the most important vehicles in post war production. The first car designed and built by Donald Healey. The prototype Healey Elliott Saloon, chassis number 1502, engine number B209.
This is the first road going vehicle produced under the Healey name and was the worlds fastest production car in 1946.
The vehicle is currently undergoing a full restoration at our premises in Bedfordshire in time to re-enact  ` The Motor ` magazine road test, at the Milan Automobile Club, 60 years after it achieved a record breaking mean speed of 104.65 MPH on the Milan - Como Autostrada.
This extremely rare car, Donald Healey`s first , has only just be discovered after being in the same ownership for the last 45 years.
